Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a major role in India’s economic and employment growth. SMEs account for 80% of NASSCOM’s 2500-odd member base and a similar composition is believed to be applicable for the Indian IT BPM industry. SMEs in India are spread across all the key industry sub sectors – IT Services, BPM, Products & Engineering R&D. The NASSCOM SME Council was set up in 2017 to enable SMEs to grow to the next level and collectively derive value from the NASSCOM platform, knowledge dissemination & best practices, networking & connections, policy advocacy and brand building.
